Oil discussions on motorcycle/car forums is the equivalent of religious discussions.
Everyone has their own favorites they believe in for reasons very personal to them.
In reality, just about any oil is suitable and good.
The advice I give is it is much more important to have regular oil changes so the oil is clean as it is the lifeblood of the engine.
If you are comfortable spending $15/qt for motorcycle specific synthetic and changing your oil every 3k miles or less, then do so.
However, if spending $15/qt makes you hesitate about changing oil every 3k miles, then use cheaper oil.
The $15/qt (and most other oils) are good for 6-8k miles BUT, the "dirt" (grit from air and wear and tear and the clutch) and the contaminants (combustion by products) they pick up as they circulate though the engine need to be removed from the engine more often than every 6-8k miles.
Oil is cheap and easy engine maintenance.
Keep an engine clean, inside and out and it will last many years and many more miles.
Any modern motorcycle engine should last over 100k miles if it is maintained properly and part of proper maintenance is keeping it clean, inside and out.
