Prospective owner in south texas

Hello all, i am from deep south texas and i am in the process of clearing up some finances to purchase an FZ-09. Originally i had wanted to purchase a Triumph Street Triple R but after some careful thought and the crazy sticker shock of a Triumph i decided to go for the Yamaha. I am a student and i also have a part time job, i also have a wife and 9 month old so finances are tight till i finish school. But the wife gave me the green light to buy the bike if i can come up with money

I hope things work out for you. See if the dealer will take the 9 month old on trade...problem solved.

I wish you and your young family well. Maybe hold off on the bike until you get a little more established though.

Something like a used SV650 or CB599 for around $3000 would be a smarter buy for someone in your shoes.

If you can swing it, you should love the bike. I came from a Suzuki TU 250, wow, what a ride the FZ is. I just got back on the TU yesterday, moving it to show it to a prospective new owner, and wow. It doesn't take long to get used to 115 hp vs 26 hp and a more aggressive yet upright riding position too. The TU's a fine bike, but the FZ is like being in an F-16 vs a Piper cub.

Good luck with the family and school.
